(vegan, no refined sugar, dairy-free)
This smoothie has been one of my favourite post workout breakfast/snack lately. I find sometimes smoothies with just fruit or veggies are not filling enough, whether this one is guaranteed to keep you satisfied until lunch time. Thanks to the avocado and peanut butter this smoothie is not just super creamy but is also packed with plant protein and healthy fats. If you want to up your intake of protein you can also add some hemp protein powder or chia seeds.
The combination of flavour between berries and peanut butter is possibly one of my favourite! Who doesn’t like jam and peanut butter on toast? :) I love adding Love Arctic Bilberry powder for an extra tart berry flavour and for extra skin loving antioxidants.
Love Arctic Bilberry powder is rich in vitamin E which helps retain the natural moisture in your skin and vitamin K helps slowing the ageing process.
Ingredients – serves 1:
2 frozen bananas
½ avocado peeled and destoned
1 tablespoon of peanut butter + 1 teaspoon for topping
1 cup of frozen berries of your choice (I have used blueberries)
¾ cup of almond milk (or non dairy milk of your choice)
2 tablespoons of Love Arctic Bilberry powder
1 tablespoon of hemp protein powder or chia seeds (optional)
Simply place all the ingredients into a blender apart from the almond milk. Add gradually the almond milk until you reach the desired consistency. You might not need to use it all, depending on how thick you like it.
Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with the topping of your choice. If you are in rush just add more liquid so you can pour it into a jar and drink it on the go.
